Busy Busy Day… Frost is coming…

So we are getting a cold front coming in tomorrow. The high is supposed to be 44 degrees Fahrenheit. I pulled all my ripe, partially ripened, and some green tomatoes from the garden since I was afraid I might loose them tonight. I also pulled some onions that were not fully covered with dirt, lots of bok choy, zucchini, mini pumpkins, and various squash that were readyish. The low tonight is supposed to be the 44*f , as well as…

Unique Home-school Coming Soon…

Unique Home-school Coming Soon…

So school starts Tuesday, September 8th. I think I’m more excited than my boys about this.  They have a pre-existing idea of how school is based off of their experiences in public and private school. They had told me that in school they usually have to  learn about things that are boring for 8 hours a day with a school room of other children.   Despite having purchased a curriculum, the learning that goes on at home will not be sitting…

Why is ORGANIC so darn expen$ive…

After a trip to the grocery store to buy 2 weeks worth of food, I literally get bummed out when I see the price of the grass fed beef at $16.00 for 3 lbs. vs the multi-cow who knows what they ate beef for $33.00 for 9.5 lbs. This sucks… Then I remember watching that movie Food Inc. and all the memorable descriptive images that are forever ingrained in my mind. I understand why the grass fed beef is more…

Home-school

Home-school

My husband and I have decided to home-school our 2 boys this year. This will be our first attempt at home-schooling. I’m looking very forward to it. My boys will be starting the 2nd and 8th grade this year. I did decide, after some research of my own, to order curriculum from Master Books and Apologia. As we go through our home-schooling year I will be adding supplemental material and conducting additional projects based off of our readings from the…

For many years the focus was acute treatment, but where does that leave someone… other than already sick, already suffering, and looking for the quick fix pill to take.  I was guilty of this myself.  I suffer from seasonal allergies.  My eyes itch like wildfire and my nose stuffs up and drips at the same time! It drives me nuts.  However, after discovering the long-term…

And then I have a 6 year old in the first grade who is also attending the same private Catholic school with his brother. The two younger…

Sweet Honey

Sweet Honey

On September 10 our yellow lab had her first litter of puppies! There were 8 all together. She went into labor at about 8:30 in the evening and was done delivering her pups at about 10:30 pm. I’ve never had a dog that had puppies before, so it was super exciting 🤗! I know it was super exciting for my kids to experience too. The puppies were all healthy and they all took to nursing right away. It was an…

So this is my attempt at a website for one of the many times. For some reason I think this will be my serious go at it since I have given up on all the free blog sites and actually PAID for bluehost to be used this time . . . This makes me feel like I must work on this site or else I’m wasting my family’s money. Anyhow, I have always wanted to have my very own blog…
